On October 16, School of Medicine of WHU held a cadre seminar with the theme of learning and implementing the Guidance of the General Office of the State Council on Accelerating the Innovative Development of Medical Education. Yu Feng, deputy director of the Teaching Management Office, and Li Jinxin, chief secretary of the Discipline Construction and Scientific Research Management Office, reported their opinions and the seminar was chaired by Xiong Ying, vice dean of School of Medicine.

Dr. Yu Feng and Ms. Li Jinxin made a detailed interpretation of the Guidance, and put forward their reflections and expectations of future development according to the current medical education, scientific research and discipline construction of Wuhan university. They pointed out that we should take full advantage of the current medical development opportunity and earnestly implement the students-oriented concept, as well as actively seeking the relevant resources in virtue of our university and the nation with the integration of the existing resources. We should also accelerate the reform and advance of medical education in our university and cultivate more excellent medical talents on the basis of the national strategies, people’s needs and the planning of School of Medicine.

To thoroughly study and apply the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the School of Medicine has actively carried out the innovative and colorful activities such as the cadre seminar, so that the school leaders can continuously improve their working ability to booster the Double First-Class initiative and the medical take-off plan of our university.
