On the morning of June 8th, with the theme of "National First-class Curriculum Construction of Virtual Simulation and 5G Smart Teaching", the sub-forum of "Revolution of Teaching and Learning" was held in the Hospital of Stomatology Wuhan University. Professor Hao Aimin, the Director of National Engineering Laboratory of Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality and Deputy Director of National Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and System of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and other guests were invited to visit the Hospital of Stomatology and give an academic report. Members participating the forum included Shang Zhengjun, the Vice Dean of Hospital of Stomatology Wuhan University, the directors, the vice directors and teaching secretaries from every teaching and research office and teachers representatives. Chen Gang, the vice director of the Teaching Office, presided over the forum.

Shang delivered a welcome speech, and emphasized that, we have come to an era featuring knowledge explosion and rapid development of information technology, which prompts the innovative development of medical education. He pointed out that Professor Hao would introduce the forefront of virtual reality technology to us, and deliver a special report about the application of virtual reality in medical education, which would greatly enlighten us about the development of teaching in the future. Then, Chen Gang, the deputy director of the Teaching Office and Jiang Chujian, the director of the Remote Center, respectively introduced the teaching and 5G construction of the Hospital of Stomatology. Later, Professor Hao gave a keynote report about virtual simulation technology and the national first-class course construction of virtual simulation.

After the report, Professor Hao also discussed with the participating teachers and exchanged views on the application and advantages of virtual reality technology in stomatology education and teaching.

The successful holding of this sub-forum sheds light on the application of virtual reality technology in teaching and clinical practice, provides a new perspective for the construction of new medical science and 5G smart teaching, and will promote the high-quality and innovative development of stomatology.
