On Sept 2, 7289 freshmen from across the country arrived at Wuhan University to start their four year study here.

Early in the morning, the campus was noisy and all work to welcome the new comers was carried out in an orderly manner. In order to ensure the safety of the staff and students, WHU conducted a drill on epidemic prevention and control in advance, ranging from entering and leaving the campus in an orderly manner and sterilizing the baggages, to checking the travel cards, confirming the identity and measuring the temperature.

In the morning, the university leaders, including Han Jin, Dou Xiankang, Wu Ping, Zhou Yezhong, Tang Qizhu and Qu Wenqian, came to the reception sites of each schools to welcome the new students and visit the staff and volunteers. They asked about the sources of students this year and real-time registration data. They also wished that the on-site staff can provide quality services for new students and solve their difficulties in time.

In order to enable the new students to feel at home, WHU made careful preparation and provided quality service. Freshmen can know their peers better by the real-time update of 2021 freshman data on the big screen of Meiyuan stadium. Tiny Love of Luojia Association reimbursed transportation costs for financially challenged students and provided 365 yuan as subsidies, referring to everyday accompany and care provided by WHU. WHU also set special entrance channels and transfer vehicles for the freshman. Volunteers and pioneer Party members also provided help for them.
